Journey through my summer in NYC

Summer in NYC has been the best experience I have ever had ! I met so many people, I made so many friends, I experience so many cool things, and saw so many things that I never dreamed of seeing !!! and its all thank to me ! hihi

2011 has been one of the most interesting years for me so far ! With after so many years of hard work I finally accomplished to Compose my best work which it got me my best grade in all 4 years in college and earned me a respect with my professors which they personally asked me to go back and do a research in Composition and Sound Art !!!! Being unsure with what I wanted to do after graduation I decided to fallow my dream and head to NYC since being in LoVe with the city forever.

I started emailing music management companies to find my self an summer internship, it took ages as most big companies require school credit. Finally after 1 and a half month search I received an email from Gold Village Entertainment wanting to interviewing me. Thankfully I secure a place after my phone interview and started my J1 visa process :)

It was mid May when I headed to US, and from there my journey began in the city.

My Interview with Marie Claire

Seeing programs like Devils Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, 13 going on 30 all describes the life into fashion industry in NYC !!! While watching these movies I never thought a day would come where I would receive an email from editor's assistant that she would love to see me. But the day came and as you can imagine I got really exited, but at the same time really nervous with what I should wear for the day of the interview.

As my interview was only few days after the email, I head to the shops as soon, as I was heading to Toronto for a weekend. Being in NYC is great as you get to find anything that its in your mind. After few hours of shopping in Soho I bought two different looks, but at that time couldn't really decide which one to go for, so I left it to decide on the day to see how I feel.

It was Tuesday at 9.30 when I got to Hearst Tower on the 57th st and OMG I felt so strange being in the same building with most fashion magazines are ! Totally felt like I was in the movies. I got to the office and totally remembered how the office looks by having watched the program Running in Heels. My interview lasted about half an hour, the editor assistant was really nice and totally stylish as you can imagine ! Simple black dress with a light cream over size blazer.

This interview has been one the highlights of my time in NYC this summer and would really love to go back one day and work for them. However, first need to sort out my visa !!!!
